A Letter From Our Executive Director

Dear Client and Family,

We would like to welcome you and your family to New York Center for Living. Whether you are an adolescent, college-bound student or young professional, our mental health and substance use program is designed to match your particular age and stage of life.

In fact, NYCFL is the only NYS licensed non-profit treatment program located in an intimate setting in the heart of New York City, and easily accessible through telehealth, that offers a wide array of treatment options exclusively designed for adolescents, young adults and their families.

Unlike many other cookie-cutter treatment programs, we do not think of “recovery” merely as a reset to a state of abstinence. Rather, at NYCFL, it is our wish to transform “recovery” into an opportunity for “self-discovery.” We believe that the problematic use of substances derail vital parts of development. It is our goal to cultivate the emotional, relational, social and vocational parts of “self” that can maximize potential and foster healthy adulthood. In joining our safe milieu, you will be offered a versatile combination of psychoeducational, motivational, cognitive, dialectical, attachment-oriented, experiential and mindfulness-based approaches that enhance emotional regulation, creative thinking and executive functioning.

At NYCFL healing begins within the family. We understand the deep sense of worry, confusion, and loss of trust that parents and stepparents, spouses, significant others and siblings feel. We dedicate our program to treating your family as we would our own and want nothing short of what we would want for ourselves; namely a healthy and loving relationship. Our experienced family therapists, primary therapists, and medical staff stand by to help you along the way.
