We Serve Midtown

NY Center For Living

Our Midtown Drug Rehab Center

Midtown is not immune to the rise in drug use among adolescents. Overall, illicit drug supply throughout Midtown has become more dangerous despite numbers dropping because of fentanyl contamination.

While overall drug use rates have declined among youth and adults, the use of fentanyl laced products has increased, and has increased the overdose-related deaths accordingly.

Use of narcotics like fentanyl instead of heroin has reached an all-time low, and yet, at the same time, fentanyl-related overdose deaths for youth 15-24 have reached an all-time high.

With NY Center for Living, we make it possible to get care regardless of age or situation, offering flexible IOP and outpatient treatment programs.

What to Expect From NYCFL Midtown Rehab

At New York Center for Living, we provide treatment programs for teens and young adults as well as families.

A big part of this extends to addiction treatment services and dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Our outpatient programs also incorporate thorough assessments at the start of each treatment plan to create a care program complete with individual and group therapy services, family therapy where appropriate, and ongoing peer services.

Peer Services

Our treatment center stands apart with its peer services. We connect clients to Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs) who help co-create short-term goals for clients with help from their clinical team.

Whether you participate in an intensive outpatient (IOP) or outpatient (OP) level of care, you can connect with recovery coaches who help you:

  • Find support networks in your area
  • Set educational goals
  • Set career goals
  • Enhance your motivation
  • Encourage self-care

All of this is best achieved by example; our CRPAs have lived experiences that position them to serve as examples to clients.

Our coaches are available all week, with clients participating in up to two 60-minute sessions each week with experienced OASAS-certified peer coaches.

Group Therapy

With our treatment center, we know how important group therapy is to recovery. Group sessions are a vital component of building solid mental health and developing coping skills.

During our group sessions, clients focus on developing and using their coping skills in real time. This is especially useful in the early stages of recovery, where coping skills can make it possible to avoid relapse.

As an outpatient treatment center, our clients get to practice these coping skills in real time, returning home at the end of the day to share and use what they learned with friends and family. We understand how difficult it can be to live without substance abuse, and the unique challenges that come with it, which is why our group therapy curriculum draws from:

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Psychodynamic
  • Psychoeducation
  • 12-Step Recovery

These combined approaches best address our clients’ challenges and support their strengths.

Beyond group therapy, we also give access to Multi-Family Group (MFG) and Parent Only Group (POG) to address family recovery where appropriate and build a support system within the family unit.

Individual Therapy

At our center, we know that individual therapy is a cornerstone of recovery

With individual therapy sessions, all of our clients have a space to reflect on things like:

  • What may have led to substance abuse
  • What co-occurring mental health issues there are
  • What their family dynamics are
  • What coping methods they use for challenges or stress management

Sometimes people who struggle with addiction need a space where they can reflect on these ideals and others, surrounded by a team of supportive therapists. Our trained staff can help you explore any past or present challenges that may have contributed to substance abuse. More than that, our program can help each client develop coping and emotional regulation skills to support long-term recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Midtown Addiction Treatment FAQs

What is a Peer Support Program?

At NYCFL, we provide a peer support program and an alumni program. These help connect clients to their peers and to those who have completed recovery long after the formal treatment process ends. Our facility hosts ongoing, peer-led groups as well as community dinners and alumni events to build a sense of belonging and sustain recovery.

What is an Adolescent Program?

Our adolescent program is designed to help young teens build their confidence, self-awareness, and communication skills by getting up to 6 hours of group therapy every week, individual therapy, and access to family support and peer support.

Do I Need an IOP?

An intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is a part-time program that allows clients to continue with school, work, or personal obligations while still getting help for addiction and mental health. At our Midtown rehab center, you can expect to participate in 9 hours of structured therapy on a weekly basis, making this an ideal next step if you have already completed a residential program and detox or if you simply need a stable and structured environment while you are starting your recovery.

What Therapy Do You Use for Rehab?

With our Midtown rehab center, each client is different. As such, each treatment plan is different. We start with our thorough assessment to confirm whether treatment plans need to involve dual diagnosis considerations for underlying mental health disorders. From there, we develop a program that uses different experiential modalities and evidence-based therapies to best support recovery. This can include things like exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and wellness or recovery activities.
