WHAT WE TREAT

A branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. At NYCFL, our board-certified addiction psychiatrist can provide evaluations and medication management.

Provides individuals the opportunity to confidentially talk through problems or situations with a licensed professional. It equips individuals with the tools needed to cope with their issues more appropriately.

Provided by a licensed professional and held with a group of peers that are in treatment at NYCFL. Our groups are focused on development and utilization of coping skills to support clients in recovery. Our curriculum draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MED), Harm Reduction and 1-step recovery approaches. The groups are helpful for reducing isolation and enabling members to witness the recovery of others—and these qualities draw clients into a culture of recovery.

Provided by a licensed professional and helps family members understand each other and work through difficult feelings in a safe space. This type of therapy focuses on improving the interactions and communication between family members.

A non-clinical group that is offered to parents of clients and parents of children who aren’t open to addressing their substance use issues. The group is to help build strategies for intervention, develop and communicate boundaries and create a supportive community.

Run by Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA) who are help clients with recovery and community integration. CRPAs often have their own experiences with recovery.

Provided by NYCFL at no charge. However, if necessary we will send the specimen to an outside lab for confirmatory testing to provide an objective measure of substance us and ensure that treatment is working.
