Signs of Alcohol Use Disorder
What are the Signs and Symptoms of Alcohol Use Disorder?
Knowing the signs of AUD can help you identify that you or someone else in your life requires treatment for alcohol addiction. If you live with Alcohol Use Disorder, you may notice the following signs and symptoms
You continue to drink even though it causes problems at work, home, school, or in interpersonal relationships, including familial relationships, romantic relationships, or friendships
You’ve gotten into a dangerous or risky situation while or after drinking (e.g., driving a car while intoxicated, going to work or school, operating heavy machinery) more than once
You spend a significant amount of time drinking, overcoming the effects of alcohol (e.g., hangovers), or thinking about drinking
Drinking has started to interfere with your functioning or productivity at work, school, or home (e.g., caring for your family)
Continuing to drink despite new or worsening physical or mental health problems caused by alcohol use
Increased tolerance (needing to drink more than before to achieve the same level of intoxication)

Bring ID and insurance info
Pack 7 days of clothes, just in case
Don’t forget toiletries
Discard any remaining substances
Assume a positive mindset
