We Serve West Village

NY Center For Living

West Village Drug Rehab

The West Village has seen a 53 percent increase in drug arrests in 2025, compared to 2024. The largest of these was the Washington Square Park, an “open-air drug market” responsible for numerous overdoses and 19 arrests.

While drug use existed prior to the pandemic, residents have noted a rise in public drug use and related issues since that time, with drug-related problems one of the most common issues for West Village residents.

Getting help for addiction, though, can be hard. That’s why NY Center for Living offers a center of recovery with IOP and outpatient programs for young adults and adolescents.

Our Rehab Programs for Teens

One of the ways we can help is by offering specialty rehab programs for teens. We know how difficult it is to find the right type of program for addiction recovery, but nowhere else is that more applicable than with youth.

If you have a teen in your family who is struggling with addiction, our programs incorporate support services and specialized therapy tailored to the unique needs of teens in the New York area, dealing with assessments, individualized programs, and peer support that are particularly important for young adults.

This extends to programs that involve other peer participation and programs that are specific to group sessions with youth, not a mixture of youth and adults.

Part of our intensive outpatient and outpatient care for adolescents and young adults includes drug testing. At New York Center for Living, we provide drug screening to confirm that clients are working toward their sobriety.

Our Rehab Programs for Young Adults

Young adulthood brings with it a crucial transition, one marked by self-discovery and independence, but one also laced with significant social pressure and stress that can increase the risk of developing substance abuse disorders.

NYCFL offers specialized treatment for young adults facing co-occurring mental health issues, substance use disorders, and behavioral challenges. The crux of our program is to provide young adults with the skills to create a meaningful life.

Our intensive outpatient programs make it possible for adults to participate in a flexible program that includes:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Substance Use Disorders
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy
  • Individual and group therapies
  • Parent, partner, and family support
  • Peer Recovery
  • Wellness and recovery activities
  • Alumni program

Each of these offerings is designed to provide our adult clients with things like insights into any childhood trauma or experiences that may have contributed to addiction or a mental health disorder.

Our individualized programming gives access to a regular, part-time schedule of evidence-based therapies like individual and group therapy, as well as wellness and recovery activities to bolster self-care and peer recovery support.

Our Rehab Programs for Families

Addiction doesn’t impact teens and young adults in isolation; it can spread to everyone around them, including their families.

At NYCFL, we provide Parent Only groups, Significant Other groups, and family therapy as a means for supporting family members who might have someone in their life with an active addiction.

Our family therapy brings all members of the family together to review family dynamics, possibly find areas where relationships can be strengthened, where communication can be improved, and where healing can be promoted.

What Makes Rehab a Success?

So what makes rehab successful, and why is it so important if you are struggling with addiction? Many people believe that they can manage an addiction on their own, choosing to go cold turkey or quit at home.

But quitting drug or alcohol abuse is only one part of a two-part problem.

The other has to do with the circumstances, events, or other mental health factors that led to drug or alcohol use in the first place.

This is where outpatient programs are so important. These programs involve licensed professionals, family members, and peers. With them, individuals can participate in structured environments that help reduce substance abuse, improve mental health, and enhance quality of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

West Village Addiction Treatment FAQs

What is an IOP?

Our intensive outpatient programs, or IOPs, are designed for young adults and adults, providing up to 9 hours of structured therapy on a weekly basis. These programs include participation in individual therapy and group therapy sessions. The part-time requirement means that clients can continue to go to school, go to work, or handle family responsibilities while still receiving the care they need to sustain their recovery.

Which Therapy is Best for West Village Rehab?

Every treatment plan is crafted intentionally with a combination of structured therapies and support to help clients achieve success. This often includes a combination of evidence-based therapies such as exposure therapy to help people overcome avoidance behaviors associated with anxiety, motivational interviewing to help find internal motivation to stay committed, and mindfulness programs to support overall emotional and physical well-being.

What Does the Adolescent Program Offer?

If you have a teen who is struggling with addiction, our adolescent program provides 6 hours of weekly group therapy along with individual therapy sessions, family support group options, and peer support. This program allows teens to better express themselves and connect with other peers through things like improv workshops and other creative activities. Our staff also heavily collaborates with parents to ensure that they can support and sustain teen recovery at home.
