SOHO Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center

This article reviews what to look for with SOHO drug and alcohol rehab centers, what differentiates one center from another, and which features might be most important.

New York Center for Living (NYCFL) is located at 226 E 52nd St, New York, NY 10022, making it an easily accessible facility for clients traveling from SoHo. Located in a dense urban area near Greenacre Park, our facility offers things like wheelchair accessibility and transportation for individuals who might need help traveling outside of the NYC area.

With several levels of outpatient care and specialized programs for teen addiction, we offer a range of weekday addiction health services for those in need.

What Makes NY Center for Living Unique

Comprehensive Treatment in NYC

While SoHo clients might find facilities closer to their home, NY Center for Living stands out for many reasons.

Specialized Focus

One of the biggest reasons clients rate our facility so highly is that we provide specialized programs for teens, young adults between ages 18 and 25, and their families.

We are designed as a non-profit dedicated to the young mind, helping younger clients deal with things like developmental pressures, social strain, and academic pressure often triggered in the urban environment of SoHo and Midtown alike.

Our facility provides clients with a peer-driven recovery community that’s tailored to the respective age groups. With a program dedicated to peer integration, our clients are able to receive services from trained professionals and support from like-minded individuals who have gone through similar programs.

At NY Center for Living, we also understand that with our specialized age groups comes the need for family inclusivity. We aim to help parents and their loved ones heal together instead of treating teens or young adults separately from their families.

Transportation from SoHo

Situated in Midtown East, NY Center for Living is highly accessible for those traveling from SoHo via public transit or car. The most common method is the subway.

Clients can take the 6 Train (Uptown) from stations like Spring St or Canal St, exit at 51st St Station, and reach us in 5 minutes. Alternatively, the E Train stops at Lexington Ave/53rd St, which is also very close to the facility.

For clients taking the bus, the M1 bus runs along Broadway and 5th Avenue, providing a direct north-south route between SoHo and our Midtown facility.

Driving is also a possibility, about 30 minutes depending on traffic, using 3rd Avenue. However, with Midtown traffic, public transit is often a faster way to get to and from appointments.

Insurance Support

At the NY Center for Living we operate as an out-of-network provider. We support families by providing monthly Superbills so that they you can submit claims for reimbursement. We also work with SJ Insurance Advocates who can assist you with this process. Click here for more information and a link for SJ Associates.

What to Expect from Our SoHo Programs

At NY Center for Living, we provide flexible programs for teens who might still be in school, young adults who are in school or working, as well as adults. With our intensive outpatient programs and our standard outpatient programs, individuals can find the level of support and structure they need based on their age and stage of recovery.

Teen Outpatient Programs

Our teen outpatient program or adolescent outpatient program is designed to accommodate the school and extracurricular requirements that your teen absolutely has. For that reason, we typically provide up to 6 hours of group therapy every week alongside our family sessions. These help ensure that treatment is accessible without overloading teens who are already busy with social and academic pursuits.

This program requires a weekly time commitment of around 6 hours with a few weekly sessions that focus on maintaining sobriety and preventing relapse.

The primary goal of our standard outpatient programs for teens is to support continued growth for those who have established stability with individual therapy, group support, and family therapy.

This program is best for those who already have a strong recovery foundation but are looking for continued support in the SoHo region so that they can transition to full independence.

Young Adult IOPs

Our young adult program is an intensive outpatient program designed for children between ages 18 and 25. This program is designed to bridge the gap between Independence and intensive treatment, allowing young adults who might be working full-time or in college to get the treatment they need for addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders without sacrificing those career or educational pursuits.

This program requires a weekly commitment between 3 and 9 hours, with multiple group sessions each week as well as individual and family therapy.

The primary goal of our intensive outpatient programs for young adults and adults is to help achieve stabilization and establish a healthy routine for early recovery from addiction.

This program provides more comprehensive services like psychiatric evaluations, group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy. It is best for people who are stepping down from a residential level of care or those who might need more than weekly outpatient meetings to sustain their recovery at this time.

With our family-centric approach, both the adolescent and young adult programs have a focus on family involvement including support groups for family members like parents or significant others.
