In most cases, patients considering inpatient treatment are admitted within 24 hours of their decision to proceed. Here are a few tips to help you or a loved one get set up for success:
- Bring ID and insurance info
- Pack 7 days of clothes, just in case
- Don’t forget toiletries
- Discard any remaining substances
- Assume a positive mindset
- Think long-term thoughts
- Remember that symptoms can be reduced, not eliminated
- If necessary, inform bosses or partners of a temporary leave of absence
